Karen Otto, SAR Staging Instructor and Mentor, shows in this local Fox TV segment that there is an art to everything and that includes making a great first impression when selling your home.
“Home staging is the perfect blend of marketing and home design that can set a home for sale apart from the competition,” Otto said. “As a working home stager in the north Texas market, I not only teach what I practice, but I practice what I teach. I bring current home-selling situations, problems and solutions into the classroom experience on a real-time basis.”
Otto earned a bachelor of business administration in marketing from Florida International University in 1993, received her Accredited Staging Professional (ASP) designation in 2006 and now teaches for Staging & Redesign (SAR), helping students not only earn a designation in the industry, but create strong business models.
Karen runs Home Star Staging in Dallas, TX and also teaches a local course for Collin College. She recently also earned her Design Specialist designation after attending an advanced home staging course taught by HGTV Staging guru, Matthew Finlason.
“When I started my own business, I realized that at any point in your life you can start, recreate and reinvent yourself or just enjoy learning about subjects that interest you,” Otto said. “We are never too old to stop learning, and if you think you’ve learned everything there is to know, then you really need an education.”
Here is Karen’s recent home staging segment from FOX 4 Good Day Dallas show.
