When trying to gain popularity in social media, it’s important to give your readers something that will interest them so they’ll keep wanting to come back and see more. Beautiful professional photos of your work, particularly dramatic before and after photos, is a great place to begin. Unfortunately most of the time these types of posts are less likely to be shared by many of your readers, making it difficult to get your page count to rise. They are also less likely to gain post engagement.
Sharing tools of the trade in social media for more exposure
In order to have a successful social media campaign, you should offer a wide variety of topics within your area of expertise. Be sure to showcase your portfolio photos, and staging statistics, but also consider writing and sharing “how-to” posts. Writing them will help you gain additional blog readership, but if you don’t feel you excel in this area, there are lots of great ones for you to share written by others.
Here are some great examples of some of the SAR instructors providing good “how-to”, industry relevant posts.
Lisa McIntee’s business model at The Staging Professionals in Niagara Falls, ON includes helping her customers choose materials for renovation projects. By keeping her customers aware of new products on the market, this is a great way for her to show credibility and create quality information for her readership.
Kym Tarr, of Prep This House in Kelowna, BC regularly offers tips on keeping the house clean, making repairs, and design related ideas. This taps into the readership interested in making the most out of their home – which is her perfect target audience.
Melissa Marro, Rave ReViews Home Staging in Jacksonville and St Augustine, FL keeps her readers up to date by adding tips on home decor and light staging tutorials. Tips on home staging are often ideas that her readers, many of which are local agents and other home stagers, are likely to share with their readership, giving her posts extra exposure.
If you are trying to grow the exposure of your home staging business, social media is a task that simply must make it to your “to-do” list. It’s easy, free, and can come with great results!
